Current estimates are that as many as 19 million children from 0-17 years of age have been orphaned by AIDS worldwide.  Expectations are that by 2010 as many as 40 million children will have lost one or both parents to AIDS.  Four out of five of these children reside in sub-Sahara Africa.

Recognizing the immediate needs of these children as well as the tremendous potential they have to grow to be strong, healthy, contributing members of their own communities, Illume International has committed to raising funds and awareness to address their plight and ensure their survival.

Illume International's immediate focus is on Africa's orphaned children.  Its primary goal is to create opportunity for the children to not only survive but to thrive and grow to have positive impact in their own communities and on our world.  Realizing that older siblings, grandparents, and others who are left behind to care for the children are also in need of support, Illume has committed to raising awareness and securing the necessary resources for sustained nutrition, education, and medical care for the orphaned children and their caregivers.

We thank you for visting our website and look forward to partnering with you in our commitment to providing voice and opportunity to our small friends in Africa.
